Zahira means in Arabic 'what is made manifest', 'revealed', or 'blossomed'. This name was chosen for these earrings based on what the two components that make up this earring represent together. The round, egg-shaped portion was introduced from the Hasaa collection, which means 'pebble' in Arabic. It represents strength, stability, and permanence. Pressure and opposition is what produces strength and refines. I think of the river stone, being smoothed by the pressure of rushing water. The second portion of the earring features the Maraya pendant, which means 'mirrors' in Arabic. It speaks on a surface level to the idea that everything that we’re attracted to and drawn to act as little mirrors reflecting various aspects of who we are.
May Zahira serve as a reminder that through our experiences that challenge us, our character is revealed. What is made manifest to us out of that is an opportunity to refine and blossom beyond it.
