Repetition creates familiarity, familiarity inspires comfort. Comfort is not always in alignment with what's best for us. Sometimes our environment is not a result of our desires but subconscious efforts that work against our desires for the sake of comfort; the safety of familiarity. Our brain on autopilot wants to follow previously outlined patterns. We have to make each action intentional and conscious so we don't wake up wondering why we haven't progressed.
